Skills

A character is allowed to learn a number of usefull Skills equal to their int modifier +1.

All of these skills are an INT roll to execute.
Failing or succeeding by 5 or more can have more pronounced results.

Natural 20 is a drastic failure.
Natural 1 is a spectacular success.

Time required to performa a skilluse is variable based on the task, but common times are 1 minute, 1 hour, and 1 day.
For longer skill checks (1 hour and up) instead of a more pronounced effect, the character can opt to shorten the amount of time to perform the skill. Ever increment of 5 decreases the time by 50%, iteratively. (1 hour becomes 30 minutes, becomes 15 minutes, etc.)

Magic or exceptional gear and workshops, where applicable, add to the character’s effective INT when performing the skill.
